Firstly, sorry if this isn’t the right category. So, this is something I’ve been wondering about for a while but I keep forgetting to ask. How do tracking numbers for packages work? Are they randomly generated? If so, how do shipping companies make sure numbers aren’t reused? Surely, if they are reused, that could cause problems in their databases. I’m in the US if that helps.
