I was watching a video about some differences between British and American cereals and learned that in the UK and most Commonwealth and European countries, What we here in the States call Frosted Flakes are known as Frosties. Why is this? Thanks!

They take pride in their products, making it sound so good and appealing. Lol, just my thought
I think it is just a language thing. There are many words that are spoken and written differently in the U.S/UK. But they mean the same thing. For instance, Britain calls it crisps. America calls it chips. Britain calls it biscuit, America calls it cookie, cracker. And the list goes on…
